New year, new work!
Happy new year! We’re kicking off our first newsletter of the year with lots of lovely new work from two of our makers…First up is Tony Laverick. Many of you will be familiar with his incredible ceramic vessels.Tony uses the surface of the pot as a painter uses a canvas. Controlled, linear designs are juxtaposed with looser, more painterly decoration. But he finds that to use the medium of ceramics makes the “paintings” he creates much more accessible.Tony’s thrown stoneware vessels have multiple firings using layered glazes, lustres, and precious metals. This year, we’ve got some smaller pieces alongside the larger display works; we’re certain all will prove popular! His work looks completely different from different angles, so drop us a line if you’d like to see more photos of any piece or, even better, pop in and see them ‘in the flesh’.Our second maker is Weston Lambert who is a sculptor based in Seattle, Washington. Gallery Plus is the only stockist of his work in Europe. His primary media are the timeless materials of glass, metal and stone, which he employs in an innovative and contemporary fashion.

Weston’s roots as a sculptor can be traced to his father’s wood shop and an impactful early encounter with the Louvre’s Nike of Samothrace. He earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tulane University and has worked as an educator at many renowned institutions.

Weston’s work has been exhibited widely throughout the USA and the world. As a public artist, he has completed prominent commissions for the cities of Chattanooga, Salt Lake City, and Geneva, Illinois.

His works are recognised for their craft and beauty.

All of the new work can be viewed on our website gallery-plus.co.uk
